What Is CJC / Ipamorelin?

CJC-1295 is a synthetic analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). Human studies of CJC-1295 have shown that it can increase circulating growth hormone and IGF-1 levels for an extended period.

Ipamorelin is a growth-hormone-releasing peptide that acts through the ghrelin receptor. Human pharmacology studies have demonstrated a short-lived pulse of growth-hormone release after administration.

Although these compounds are frequently discussed together, clinical evidence on the combined CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin regimen is much more limited than the evidence studying each compound separately.

What Does the Research Show?

In randomized studies of healthy adults, CJC-1295 produced dose-dependent increases in growth hormone and IGF-1. One published trial reported elevated growth hormone for several days and elevated IGF-1 for approximately nine to eleven days after a single dose of long-acting CJC-1295.

Ipamorelin has also been studied in human volunteers. Pharmacokinetic research showed a dose-related growth-hormone response with a relatively short terminal half-life and a single growth-hormone pulse after administration.

These studies establish biological activity, but they do not establish that the commonly marketed CJC / Ipamorelin combination improves body composition, sleep, recovery, performance, or healthy aging. High-quality clinical outcome data for the combination remain limited.
